Superb service and great vacation
We had a very nice suite with a small outside balcony staircase; everyone enjoyed the 5 day stay. Highlights were: the hotel-sponsored Eco Resort series, where our 10 year old grandson learned all about the red mangroves, manatees, and local sea urchins from Gary, a very engaging Marine biologist; the first class restaurant, Tavern N’ Town; a very convenient Fury boat excursion service at the hotel dock; a nice salt water swimming pool; and very friendly and professional young service staff representing at least a dozen countries ranging from Turkmenistan to Poland. The concierge was an extraordinarily well informed and very helpful local. Reception staff were terrific and managed a number of problems swiftly (jammed porch door; dishwasher issue). A shuttle service ran at least hourly to stops around Duval Street although it was easier to drive or grab one of the pink cabs. The pool got very crowded late in the day and was less enjoyable; the “beach” was not for swimming or sunning but served as the boat dock for jet skis and tour boats; rooms were not made up until quite late in the day; the elevator from Garage 6 was making progressively scarier sounds and struggling more through the week; several times it was hard to find a parking space in the evening.

very nice place to stay
Our family of 5 spent a week at this hotel. The room had enough space that it didn’t seem packed with all of us and all of our stuff. Beautiful marina to watch the sunset. Nice pools for the kids. Hotel staff was very helpful. They even had a nice marine environment presentation on Sunday morning. Overall we had a great week and the hotel was a big part of that.from Trip Advisor

Loved the beach and Marine Science presentation
I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. It was clean and the staff was so friendly. I loved having the Emocean Sports right next door/on the property. It was convenient and the staff there made our trips exciting and fun. They were knowledgable and made us feel safe even when they were making jokes! I particularly enjoyed the Marine Science presentation on the beach on Saturday morning. There were cool critters and the biologist, Julie, was also very knowledgeable and seemed to really love what she did!from Trip Advisor

Sunday sea grass sweeps.
Me and my husband are locals and we love going to the islander to relax, BUT this Sunday just topped it for us even more, two bright ladies sweeping the sea grass to catch and teach guests about the marine life we don’t even notice in the sea grass. Me and my husband were shown how to look and observe the different species and the ladies allowed us to sweep for our own marine treasures. It was amazing! We learnt and gained so much appreciation from this small but powerful amenity! Thank youfrom Trip Advisor

A very positive experience!
“At the end of March I had to have some business meeting in Key West. I met friends at this hotel.Earlier in March I was at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, but this hotel had an added treat ! There was a Marine Science presentation presented by Ms. Sherri Paris a marine scientist. The topic was on dolphins and there were other sea creatures to view and even touch ! Hyatt has done it again ,great resort, comfortable and this added bonus of a very informative , marine science event. Keep up the good work Hyatt!!!from Trip Advisor

The best hotel with the best location!
We had a ball while staying at this property. Only 48 units so you could always grab a lounge chair to lay out on. The pool was amazing, so were the guests. Everyone was so friendly; several people exchanged names and numbers! Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday the hotel had events planned in the afternoon. Every one them were so interesting! Our favorite of all was when the scientists came in from The Science Marine Camp. Not only did we hear about the sea life here, but we got to see and touch the live critters! You could hear a pin drop – everyone was waiting for the next sea creature to come around! The pool was great, the talks were good, and the restaurants and nightlife were superb! You are only 3 short blocks from the heart of Duval. You have your choice of a zillion fabulous restaurants. Our favorite was Two Friends – lobster tail for just $19.99! We ate there three times. They also serve breakfast and lunch. Another fave was Red Fish, Blue Fish. Both of these are within 6 Blocks so we walked. We did rent bikes for $55/week but found it was easier to walk. Don’t miss Mallory Square for the sunsets. They also have street performers and great vendors! We will definitely be back for more around the Holidays!from Trip Advisor
